Born in 1982 to immigrant parents from Hongkong and Malaysia, Benjamin Law is a well-known author and journalist.

He is a prominent figure who works to spread positivity around sexuality and other social issues. His book Gayasia talks about what it’s like to be homosexual in East Asia.

In an interview, Law explained his experience from coming out himself to providing visibility to Australian Asians.

Let’s take a deeper look into the life of Law with his partner and their love for children.

Benjamin Law and partner Scott Spark initially disliked the concept of marriage

After remaining together for a long time as an acquaintance, Law and Scott Spark started dating. They frequently shower each other with love in an adorable manner by posting pictures of each other.

But being in the public eye has led people to question the author on whether he would get married.

In one of his interviews, Law expressed that he initially wasn’t a fan of holding big marriages that cost one a fortune. He had a negative impact after his parents split.

A change in perception occurred to him when he started going to weddings and crying every time people exchange vows.

Even though he and his partner aren’t fans of the concept of marriage, he has expressed it’s adorable when others do it. He also expressed how grateful he is that same-sex marriage is legal these days.

Similarly, during a podcast, when asked by the Host Mia Freedman, Law stated, “I kind of feel like you have to renew your vows daily, in a way, internally. We’re not bound together by marriage.”

“[we question] what are the other things that bind us, and are they still important? You know you make an active effort to do that,” he added.

Benjamin Law has strong feelings toward children

Being part of a circle that is “exploding with children,” Law expressed he and his partner Spark wanna be known as “cool gay uncles” to the kids.

He revealed, “I just love seeing my friends — straight and queer — just making these kinds of daily miracles with their children. It’s really gratifying.”

After experiencing firsthand motherhood when his younger sister got pregnant, Law pointed out that he felt like “that thing poops a lot” and never really had the urge to grow one of his own.

He also put light on the fact that having kids is a skill set while adding he doesn’t possess one.

He further shared how his heart warmed when he caught a glimpse of his partner enjoying time around the children. Following that statement, he said he doesn’t want to compromise that, as Spark is really good at nourishing children or new life.

Law frequently posts pictures with children. Not just that, he also actively partakes in different activities with them.

When asked what did he view after being surrounded by kids, he pointed out that he became conscious of two things.

“One is I love kids, and I need them in my life. And it’s so important for me to be around the kids who are important to me,” he said. “Like if I go a week without seeing certain kids in my life, it feels wrong.”

“The second thing that’s reaffirmed is I don’t want them. Because my love for them is so strong, I don’t feel that urge to have any of my own, because I feel invested in these kids’ lives.”

Seems like the beloved uncles are very much happy and content, loving the younglings around them. Watching them grow has given them exposure to how growing children is a bigger responsibility that needs all attention and dedication.
